Microsoft getting serious about Windows Marketplace for Mobile
With the release of Windows Phone 7 Series, Microsoft is getting serious about it’s Mobile Marketplace. They are now focusing on fixing all the issues related to it’s Windows Marketplace for Mobile and coming up with big new changes. Here is what they released today.
World View: previously known as “geo selector”, the World View feature will allow Marketplace users to browse and purchase applications from different geographic catalogs. For example, a user in France could choose to browse the English US catalog, or a user in Canada could browse the catalog from Japan. All application prices will show up in the user’s local currency and Microsoft will be in touch with registered independent software vendors (ISVs) in the weeks ahead to provide step-by-step instructions on how to re-price their apps for all markets.

People. This hub delivers an engaging social experience by bringing together relevant content based on the person, including his or her live feeds from social networks and photos. It also provides a central place from which to post updates to Facebook and Windows Live in one step.
Pictures. This hub makes it easy to share pictures and video to a social network in one step. Windows Phone 7 Series also brings together a user’s photos by integrating with the Web and PC, making the phone the ideal place to view a person’s entire picture and video collection.
Office. This hub brings the familiar experience of the world’s leading productivity software to the Windows phone. With access to Office, OneNote and SharePoint Workspace all in one place, users can easily read, edit and share documents. Windows Mobile 7 User Interface leaked at Mobile World Congress
As we are just few hours away from Windows Phone Press Conference by Steve Ballmer. It looks like someone was able to sneak peek behind the big Microsoft poster at the Mobile World Congress. According to Engadget “Taking up a corner of what’s presumably a new home screen for the OS. There are also big, finger-loving notice icons for calls, text messages, and email, with sections for Facebook, Pictures and “Me” filling out the rest”
