NetApp integrates with Microsoft Toolkit to enable service providers to take SMBs to cloud
NetApp recently announced enhanced integration with Microsoft to deliver enterprise-class data protection solutions to cloud service providers by leveraging the Microsoft Dynamic Data Center Toolkit for Hosters.
Although enterprise-class data protection has historically been too expensive for most small- and medium-size businesses (SMBs) to implement themselves, NetApp and Microsoft now enable service providers to offer enterprise-class data protection to their SMB customers.
Additionally, NetApp announced the availability of new professional service offerings and additional resources and guidance for service providers to build a variety of enterprise-class cloud services.

My name is Aleksandar Talev and I work as R&D Manager in Semos – Microsoft Gold Partner. I’m professionally oriented to development of IT projects based on Microsoft technologies, primary Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 as well as SharePoint Portal Server 2007. I have been working with SQL Server 6.5 since 1996. I am regular presenter on all the Microsoft conferences and events in Macedonia . As a Microsoft trainer I am holding a Microsoft Official Curriculum courses focused on SQL Server. Also I am one of the founders of SQL Server User Group (PASS) Macedonia. In my “free” time I am engaged in developing the SQL Server community in Macedonia.

Concerning my engagements in SQL Server community in Macedonia and as a reward for my dedication to the community in 2005 Microsoft awarded me title for technical knowledge and engagement – SQL Server MVP.

Tell us who you are?
My name is Mohamed Saleh, Palestinian living in Jordan; I work as a platforms consultant for Devosis, Amman. I am SharePoint Server MVP and also the leader of Jordan .NET User Group (Jordev.NET ) Jordev is the leading User Group in Amman with over 1000 registered members. My experience in the IT field is spread across different technologies, and my main focus is on Microsoft Application Platforms including SharePoint, TFS, AppFabric, Windows Azure, and Microsoft Dynamics xRM Platform.
As my community activities, currently I am working to increase the awareness about adapting SharePoint 2010 technologies as a development platform, Open Data, and Microsoft Application Platform in Jordan communities; i also help in building the technical communities in Palestine.
Tell us about your MVP history, when were you first awarded?
I was first awarded in April 2008 as a Microsoft Visual C# MVP.
What do you do in order to keep up with latest tools and technologies?
I like to early adapt the new technologies, and testing it out, in addition to that, I am a subscriber of many blogs and forums and of course reading books and articles.
Microsoft Jordan launches Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010
Under the Patronage of His Excellency Marwan Jumaa, Minister of Information and Communications Technology (MoICT), Microsoft Jordan held the official launch event for the company’s next wave of business productivity solutions including Office 2010, SharePoint 2010 and Exchange Server 2010, at the Sheraton Hotel Amman that was attended by over 250 members of Jordan’s leading business and ICT community.
Microsoft Jordan’s Country Manager Mrs. Rula Ammuri delivered a keynote presentation on Microsoft’s next generation business software which provides the best productivity tools across the PC, phone and browser. The products released have been specifically developed to meet the changing requirements of customers enabling increased collaboration, mobility and secure access to data.

Microsoft Delivers the Future of Productivity With the Release of Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010
Today, Microsoft announced the worldwide availability of Microsoft Office 2010 and Microsoft SharePoint 2010, as well as Microsoft Visio 2010 and Microsoft Project 2010, for business customers worldwide. More than 90 million businesses can now deploy the 2010 suite of products, and customers can expect to see significant productivity gains and greater return on their software investments.
“Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 define the future of productivity,” said Stephen Elop, president, Microsoft Business Division. “With the 2010 set of products, organizations will save, innovate and grow as their people benefit from working across the PC, phone and browser.”
A commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting, “The Total Economic Impact™ of Implementing Microsoft’s Integrated Office Productivity Platform,” May 2010,1 evaluated the 2010 releases of Office, SharePoint, Exchange and Office Communications Server 2007 R2. The Forrester TEI model employs four fundamental elements including costs, benefits to the entire organization, flexibility and risk. Based on the customer interviews, Forrester constructed a TEI framework for a composite organization and found the ROI to be 301 percent with a payback period of 7.4 months after deployment. The study also found that the composite organization would see more than $13 million in savings over a three-year period and on average, a savings of more than two work weeks per year.
