Meet Mohamed Saleh - Visual C# MVP from Jordan

Tell us who you are?
My name is Mohamed Saleh, Palestinian living in Jordan; I work as a platforms consultant for Devosis, Amman. I am SharePoint Server MVP and also the leader of Jordan .NET User Group (Jordev.NET ) Jordev is the leading User Group in Amman with over 1000 registered members. My experience in the IT field is spread across different technologies, and my main focus is on Microsoft Application Platforms including SharePoint, TFS, AppFabric, Windows Azure, and Microsoft Dynamics xRM Platform.

As my community activities, currently I am working to increase the awareness about adapting SharePoint 2010 technologies as a development platform, Open Data, and Microsoft Application Platform in Jordan communities; i also help in building the technical communities in Palestine.

Tell us about your MVP history, when were you first awarded?
I was first awarded in April 2008 as a Microsoft Visual C# MVP.

What do you do in order to keep up with latest tools and technologies?
I like to early adapt the new technologies, and testing it out, in addition to that, I am a subscriber of many blogs and forums and of course reading books and articles.

My name is rema malkawi , I am from Jordan living in amman , MSP for Hashemite university I am 20 years now , in my 3rd year , studying computer science.

Tell us about your University?
My university ( Hashemite university ) is my baby ;) The Hashemite University (HU) is the fifth state university in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. It is located on the outskirts of the city of Zarqa to the east (about 45 minutes drive) of the capital Amman. Al-Zarqa Governorate is the second most populated Governorate in the country. The Royal Decree ordaining the establishment of the Hashemite University was issued in June 1996, it has 13 faculty ( science , economy , engineering , educational of science , Arts , medicine , physical education and sport , allied health science , nursing , information technology IT , natural rescores and environment , tourism , childhood , )

It’s Jordan University of science and technology (JUST) located in Irbed at the north of the country, Founded on 1986, Includes more than 20,000 student from 48 different nationalities, one of the best universities in Jordan and in the Arab world, focuses on Engineering and information technology , has a great IT faculty with five departments (Computer Engineering , Networks & security Engineering , Software Engineering , Computer Information systems , Computer science) .

Jordan – .Net Club Launched at Hashemite University by Jordev

DotNetArabi – Arabic talkshow about technology and Microsoft!

DotNetArabi (Website, Blog), ia an arabic talkshow launched by Emad Alashi who is currently working as a Technical Team Leader at esense software. His main interest is in software architecture, software management and is enthusiast about new emerging technologies. He is also the member of the Jordan .net User Group and the Jordanian Astronomical Society.

In an interview with MicrosoftFeed, Emad said “The first episode of DotNetArabi was issued in March 2009, I was much influenced by the popular .net podcasts on the web, 3 things I loved about podcasts: it is a rich source of knowledge tech news, it is audio and so can be heard while driving, and it is a lot of fun! Especially that interviews are with real people from the community.”

Jordan – First .Net Club Launch at Petra University by Jordev

Ahmad Barqawi, the newly selected Microsoft Student Partner from Petra University worked with the local .Net club members and Petra University supervisors to launch the first .net club at Petra University. The launch ceremony included many activities and topics such as Imagine Cup Competition 2010, Introduction about the community and its importance, an introduction about .Net, ASP.net, AJAX and JQuery.

Jordev guys were also there to help and spread the knowledge. Three of the remarkable Jordev members participated in the event are Mohamed Waleed, Abdullah Abdelhaq and Omar Mowahed. The sessions were useful and students were happy to be updated in such topics and were very enthusiastic to join the weekly community night events given by Jordev, JITPros and JSUG @ Microsoft Innovation Center.

Meet Bassam Ali – MSP from Princess Sumaya University for Technology, Jordan

Bassam Ali goes to my name. I am a 3rd year student of Princess Sumaya University for Technology and studying Management Information Systems. Presently, as an IEEE PSUT SB Chairman, member of DART students club and a very proud MSP working on many activites.

Tell us about your University?
Princess Sumaya University for Technology is very unique university. It’s not like any other; we are specialized in ICT and are Elite of the Elite. The student activities lately at PSUT boomed like never before. When we (the students) organized the first ever IEEE Middle East Student Branches Congress, we did something. We proud ourselves for doing the best possible way by learning more from our mistakes and make things professionals which can’t dream about.

Tell us about your MSP history, when were you awarded?
Actually I’m new here and still finding my feet. I was awarded last month and hopefully it will be a start of a great relation.

What do you do in order to keep up with latest tools and technologies while focusing on your education?
I only read Blogs. In this way I am communicating with the Jordev Community Guys. All of this is all kind of activity which I am doing in my spare time. One should just need to set priorities for himself and then work on them. I repeat that everything will be easy, if you follow set priorities in right direction.

Just like the awareness event at Germanian Jordanian Univeristy, JorDev guys conducted yet another awareness session this time at Philadelphia University, Jarash. The IT club of Philadelphia University invited Mohamed Saleh and Mohamed Salem to share their knowledge with the students. They presented on “Introducing SharePoint Server Technology” and “Introducing Visual Studio 2010“.

Jordev Awareness Sessions in Germanian Jordanian University

Germanian Jordanian Univeristy recently hosted a series of Technology awareness sessions in cooperation with Microsoft Innovation Center and Jordan .NET User Group. Jordev is the first user group in Jordan dedicated to the .NET Stack technologies. They were also part of successful activities like Microsoft Student Partners Awareness Day, Jordan Remix etc

Jordev Awareness Sessions in Germanian Jordanian University

Mohamed Saleh started the event introducing the community, and how to build community culture between the students, and the new series of technologies for this year and the upcoming year. Second presentation was by Suliman Al-Batat which was targeted towards giving the students a high level understanding of Microsoft Student 2 Business Portal and the Dream Spark Program. They introduced Windows 7 Hot features and the architectural changes and finally Mohamed Salem presented about Visual Studio 2010 and how easier is the test driven development using VS 2010.
