View Comments

Tell us who you are?
Bashar Lulu, a Palestinian born and raised in Kuwait. I started writing applications professionally in 1994, first with Visual Basic (started with version 3.0) and now in Visual Studio 2008 (and more recently I beta test Visual Studio 2010). I run my own company, which I established just over 1 year ago, and I’m currently the Chairman of DotNetBoom, the first and largest developer community in Kuwait.

Tell us about your MVP history, when were you first awarded?
I was first awarded in 2006 for a competency in Visual Basic. I have since then been re-awarded in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

What do you do in order to keep up with latest tools and technologies?
I read a lot of articles and blogs, download a lot of betas and test a lot of software on my many virtual machines.

What does being an MVP mean to you?
It is a privilege and a responsibility. A privilege because we (MVPs) have firsthand access to up-and-coming Microsoft technologies, something I personally enjoy very much. A responsibility because we are sort of technical role models for other geeks out there; plus our responsibility to share this knowledge with others (not an easy feet believe me).
