Tell us who you are?
My name is Waleed Omar, I’m working as IT Operations Supervisor in Mantracgroup , I’m Exchange Server MVP for 2 years now, MCT for 7 Years and MCSE for 11 Years, also CISSP, and certified ITIL Service Manager , currently Pursuing a master’s degree in Management of Technology.

Tell us about your MVP history, when were you first awarded?
I’ve been awarded the MVP Award for 2 years now.

What do you do in order to keep up with latest tools and technologies?
Attending Conferences regularly, reading and making use of the wealth of learning resources available by Microsoft, in addition to having regular discussion meetings with peers in technology & IT field.

What does being an MVP mean to you?
It actually means a lot, but briefly it is the right Award to the right people in the right time of their career and an opportunity to enjoy sharing knowledge.

What do you do when you are not building software’s?
Testing New Microsoft Applications and reading what is new in the IT Technology or travelling somewhere around the globe.

If you could ask Steve Ballmer one question about Microsoft, what would it be?
Are you thinking in reducing Microsoft R&D budget within the next 10 years? If yes, what maybe the reason?

Had a chance to attend “MVP Global Summit”? When and how was your experience?
I’ve attended the MVP Summit in 2008 and 2009, and it was wealth of networking opportunities, product team interactions.

What makes you a great MVP?
The passion for learning, love of Technology and innovation in addition to reading and knowledge sharing. I usually deliver public sessions about Microsoft new Technologies and enjoy very much showing people how they can get benefited the most from adopting those technologies

What you think about the MVP’s role in promoting technology in Middle East?
It is a very essential role, since the culture in the Middle East prefers the word of mouth and the one-to- one interaction in learning about new technologies MS provides.

What is in your computer bag?
Other than the Laptop I have Windows Mobile & GPS device, Pen, and my business cards.

Who are your top 5 favorite Middle East MVPs?
Ahmed Bahaa, Mahmoud Amin, Sureen Naji Aslavi, Marwan Tarek

If you get a chance to suggest one conference in Middle East? What would it be and why?
TechEd Dubai, I’m a regular attendee of the TechEd Europe and having the same into the Middle East will offer a lot of feasible learning opportunities.

What is the best thing that has happened since you have become an MVP?
Attending the MVP Summit and meeting with the product teams.

Who are your top 5 technical experts in your professional circle (from your country)?

What was the last book you read?
Online Social Networking (Current Controversies)

If there was one place you could travel to, right now, where would it be and why?
Paris- I’ve lots of good memories there :)

How can one be a part of MVP Club? Any suggestions for them?
If he has the passion of Technology, he will find it easy, also the sharing of knowledge makes it sharpen and mature, if one is having the passion for sharing what he learns he will be benefited and the others as well.
