Meet Mostafa Elzoghbi – Visual C# MVP from Egypt
Tell us who you are?
I’m Mostafa Elzoghbi, working as a Sr. Software Engineer for MetroStar Systems in Reston, VA, USA. I’m working mainly with .NET technologies since its beta releases, my main focus area is to build enterprise LOB .Net Applications and SharePoint solutions.
Tell us about your MVP history, when were you first awarded?
I was awarded my first MVP award in 2006 with C# Competency when I started first .NET community in Kuwait (DotNet Boom). And I was renewed for 3 consecutive years for my participation on technical online events and offline activities.
What do you do in order to keep up with latest tools and technologies?
I’m participating on a lot of beta reviews, reading blogs and books and participating with various development book authoring and writing early bird technology articles.
What does being an MVP mean to you?
Being an MVP for one time in your professional career is a lot, it is an award for long time of dedication and commitment to the technical community in your field. Sharing your knowledge and experience with others through your articles and blog posts or any other means helps other to move forward and tackle any problem they might face when working with Microsoft products and technologies.
What do you do when you are not building software’s?
Mainly practicing sports: walking, swimming and relaxing.

How can Microsoft MVPs help Product teams to build next innovation software?
Had a chance to attend “MVP Global Summit”? When and how was your experience?
I attended the global summit in 2007; it was awesome since bill gates was the keynote for it. I had great experience meeting other MVPs from other countries that I used to communicate with them over the wire, face-to-face interactions makes a big difference.
What makes you a great MVP?
Share up-to-date information about the latest technologies and share daily problems and tips that help other folks in my development field.
What you think about the MVP’s role in promoting technology in Middle East?
MEA MVPs have greater role in their countries, since their countries requires more efforts because they don’t have enough events that we used to have in other regions. In this matter, they are doing more efforts through online and offline activities with their friends and peers working in the same IT market and understand their needs as well.

Studying Masters Degree in Computer science.
